AMD to Invest $5B in Anthropic for 2GW AI Compute

 


AMD has announced a massive strategic partnership with Anthropic, committing to invest up to $5 billion in the AI developer. Under the agreement, Anthropic gains access to up to 2 gigawatts (GW) of compute capacity powered by AMD Instinct MI450 GPUs and Helios rack-scale systems to meet soaring demand for its Claude AI models.

This partnership expands AMD's footprint across top-tier AI developers. By supplying infrastructure and taking an equity position in Anthropic, AMD strengthens its position as the leading challenger to NVIDIA in AI acceleration.
